Welcome to Way of the Fist, Long Island's only traditional Matsubayashi Shorin-ryu karate dojo! We are a proud member of the World Matsubayashi-ryu Karate-do Association. Our mission statement is to teach traditional Matsubayashi Shorin-ryu karate as taught by Takayoshi Nagamine, 10th dan Hanshi-Sei. This includes all 18 kata, 7 yakusoku kumite and all classsical bunkai.Gerard Cappiello, 6th dan, Renshi, has been a student of Nick Racanelli from 1982-2007 and a student of Soke Takayoshi Nagamine from 2007 to present. Cappiello Sensei has traveled to Okinawa in 2002 and 2011 for intensive training and received his Renshi 6th dan in Okinawa in 2011.
